So get your dancing shoes ready, because "The House Is On Fire", is about to set NoHo on fire! Garth (Golden Goose, Wicked Sound System SF) http://www.grayhound.net/artists.php Garth has been an icon in San Francisco nightlife for twenty years, playing a key role in sustaining the flames of conscious hell raising that existed here in generations past. Parties with his stamp include a coveted ten year residency at Come Unity, thirteen legendary years with the Wicked Sound System, and since 2005, his genre-defyng Acid Disco Back2Back jams with Jeno. Bringing UK sound system culture to San Francisco's psychedelic climate, Wicked's lawless full moon beach parties ushered in an era of Acid House hysteria that ripped through the west coast and spread into the heartland. The Wicked crew (DJs Garth, Jeno, Markie & Thomas Bullock) are credited widely with having revived the City's dance scene in the early 90's, cementing its reputation as the red headed step child of Disco. Scoring a Tony Andrews designed Turbosound rig, they toured with friends from Berkeley in a '47 Greyhound bus whose previous owners were a gospel choir. Wicked hit the road spreading their own gospel across the States and were the pioneering sound system at Burning Man in 1995. Wicked went on to promote a series of Guest Sessions introducing the cream of House luminaries to San Francisco including Tony Humphries, DJ Harvey, Doc Martin, Louis Vega, Roger S, Robert Owens, DJ Pierre, Joe Claussel & Francois K. Garth plays many of the world's best clubs including Fabric, The End, Gold, Yellow, Mago, Ten15, Endup, Twilo, Roxy, Rex, Zouk & Lux and has been voted amongst America's top DJs in Urb, XLR8R & DJ Magazines. For many years he pioneered all-night Dub and Downtempo sets on the only renegade system permitted at Reggae on the River where Jamaican legends Mikey Dread and Junior Reid stopped by the bus to rock the mic. The same bus provided inspiration for a record label. Since '98 Grayhound has released 53 singles documenting an edgier West Coast sound. Artists include Wicked, Rocket, Perry Farrell, DJ Garth & ETI, DJ Harvey, The Glimmers & Ray Mang, Michoacan, DJ Rasoul, Nectar, Stranger, EBE. Many artists have debuted on the label. His breakout anthem with E.T.I. 'Twenty Minutes of Disco Glory' shook things up internationally, praised by Muzik Magazine as one of the best dance singles of '96. Since then he has produced more than 50 records under various pseudonyms working with Anthony Mansfield, Eric James (Rocket), Rob Doten (Crosstown Traffic) and Markie Mark or Jeno (Wicked). His remixes include The Units, Faithless, Halo Varga, Darryl Pandy, The Glimmers, Rob Rives, Dada Munchamonkey, Perry Farrell (Janes Addiction), Yabby You, Robbie Shakespeare and Tribe Called Quest. He has compiled and mixed albums for Om, NRK, Thrive & Grayhound. His productions have been licensed to countless DJ mix CDs and his music can be found in two films - SF rave flick 'Groove' and Gus Van Sant's 'Speedway Junky'. Since 2007 he and collector/dealer James Glass have been waving the flag for Golden Goose re-edits, raiding their record collections & respectfully placing Disco/Rock obscurities under the knife as King & Hound. Ever the DJ's DJ, he has stayed true to the original art form playing all-vinyl sets out in Hawaii, Japan, Fiji, Korea, Spain, England, Greece, Portugal, France, Belgium, Germany, Mexico, Canada, Australia, Singapore, even Indonesia & Malaysia, turning parties out upon request. Mark Lewis (Mixology, Reverb Agency LA) http://www.djmarklewis.com/ Mark Lewis, one of the most revered and respected DJ's in Los Angeles, is exploding onto the global dance terrain. Mark, a London native, began his career in L.A. 1986. He shared the turntables with re-knowned DJs, Carl Cox, David Morales, Frankie Knuckles, and Paul Oakenfold. and many many more. Mark's intercontinental popularity has him spinning regularly from America to Europe. At the infamous Twilo-NY, E-Werk-Berlin, Cream and Ministry of Sound in England. Mark is an accomplished producer and remixer, having done projects with notables, Miami Sound Machine, Chaka Khan, Ace of Base, Erasure and most recently Sean Christopher. Marks's electric energy and unwavering enthusiasm for dance music fuel his philosophy to..."Celebrate Life through Dance !" With over a decade in dance, Mark Lewis stands ready to usher the vibrant and resounding beats of dance music into and through the next millennium. Jesse Brooks (Atwater Syndicate, Fresh Produce LA) http://www.jessebrooks.com/ In the world of dance music, Jesse Brooks is admired and well respected as a dj. Getting his start in the early 90's underground scene of LA, he quickly built a strong following with a long residency at the legendary Fresh Produce parties. Traveling all over the US and playing parties as far away South America and Malaysia, he has taken his sound to listeners far and wide. Jesse’s eclectic taste allows him to play to any type of crowd. Eventually Jesse’s passion for House led to him getting involved in the music on other levels (mix cd’s, producing, recording). Jesse’s first recording success came in the form of two nationally released mix cd’s (LA Groove and Fresh Produce) with sales exceeding 30,000 units. His very first project as a producer, gained a release on the very reputable Imperial Dub label. Additional releases have made their way onto such labels as Yoshioshi, Large, Seasons, Om, City Deep, Offset, and Dutchie Music. Jesse just finished a collaborative remix of Femi Kuti due out early next year. David Isaac (Twilight Boogie, Temple SF) http://www.djdavidisaac.com/ After years of regretting leaving DJing behind, in August 2010 David moved to San Francisco to give it another shot. It was there that he spent over a year as one of the world's first true resident DJs. While living inside the same building that housed Temple Nightclub, he co-founded "SUSTAIN", a webcast and happy hour based out of Ki Sushi/Temple, that continues to grow in popularity. David quickly became a proven crowd pleaser best known for his perfectly woven sets, one of which included a legendary closing performance after Cold Blank, that kept the club open until 4 AM, a feat normally only accomplished on Halloween and New Years Eve, nights which he has also played massive closing sets for hundreds of people. In March 2011, he had the honor of playing at Mixology's 11th Annual WMC closing party at Nikki Beach Nightclub in South Beach, Miami. The recording of that set remains one of his favorite, and is available for download. He and long time friend DeeJay Tone have teamed up again for the first time in years, with a remix of Jaswho?'s "Solar Future", and Cold Blank's "ReDroid" out now on Temple Music Group. David also just released a Dub Mentals remix on Jah Love Recordings, "Dub Tarja Preta". In the works now, is an EP due out on Blue Orb Records sometime in 2012. In 1999 and 2000, David held down residencies at Hollywood's Opium Den and LA's infamous and long running afterhours, Insomnia. During that time, he played with some very influential and prominent DJs, including Christopher Lawrence, Donald Glaude, DJ Dan, Mark Farina, Marques Wyatt, Mark Lewis, and Julius Papp. However, it was at this time he decided to leave his residencies to focus solely on sound design. In 2000, at the age of 26, his success as a sound designer became evident when he won an Emmy for the television show "ER”, and began working on his first major motion picture in that same year. Now, some of his credits include "The Island”, "300”, "Speed Racer”, "Watchmen”, "G.I. Joe”, and "Sucker Punch”.
